Gerison was out with the Team for a week of VBS Bible Classes when the news came of Francisco, his dad's passing. We don't have new information regarding a Memorial, however we are assured there is rejoicing in Heaven as Francisco joins his beloved wife Ena Marie, at their Eternal Home in the presence of Jesus. Your prayers are much needed and appreciated at Casa Shekinah.
God Thunders Marvelously with His Voice; He does Great Things which we Cannot Comprehend.Job 37:5........May 2010 A couple of weeks ago in the midst of a rainstorm, we had a tremendous bolt of lightening and crash of thunder. Only one, but it did damage here and all over town. We lost our laptop and had damage to our office PC which is now fixed. We lost our email addresses. If you want to receive our prayer letters, please write and we'll add you to our new list. ..................vecdlk3@prodigy.net.mx
We need your prayers and a helping hand now!
Carlos, third son and namesake of our faithful worker Carlos Sr., had the misfortune of loosing one of his friends in an untimely death. This friend had suffered with lung issues for years, and his lungs gave out. Carlos said,"I knew he was not a Christian, and I did not even witness to him!"This week, Carlos invited a group of friends to play soccer. He used tracts and an outreach film to witness to them. They are invited again for Saturday. Please cover him and the situation with your fervent prayers. In our last letter we requested prayer for VBS. The schedule will be complete when we have fall public school start dates. Please pray for much needed dedicated and efficient teachers and directors. Some may cancel due to family health problems. We have a VBS in Mexico City this year -- a first! Please mention our copy machine, on which we hope to make seven to eight thousand copies. The ministry of Casa Shekinah in Cintalapa and villages throughout Chiapas, depends on your prayers. John 14:14 If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.. Dorothy and Virginia.

Who can find a wife of noble character? She is worth far more than rubies. She sets about her work vigorously, her arms are strong for her tasks. She opens her arms to the poor and needy. She is clothed with strength and dignity, she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom. Her children call her blessed, her husband praises her.Her husband is respected at the city gate.
Francisco was a couple of years too old to attend secondary school (college) so he went to Latan American Bible School in Guatamala. He Pastored a church in Madero several years, and also learned to be an effective ventriloquist and was in much demand. Actually, everyone knew the dummy, Martin!!
Before he met Ena, Francisco started numerous Bible Classes in the southern coastal villages. Ena worked at a restaurant with her mom and she had attended Bible Classes as a youth. Before he met Maria Ena, he said he "didn't really have any use for girls." He was very polite! Just not interested. Francisco and Maria Ena married when she was around 20 and Francisco, 30.
Francisco was one of the young men who lived at el Rancho Milegro. He was just fourteen years old and a fine Christian. Some of the others were Francisco's brother Juan, and Julio, Gorge, Oreillia, Antonio, Erasmo, Leonardo, Laobardo and the girls Josephina, Isabel and later Dina. They went to school during the week, and then to Saturday Bible Classes. The kids could not be left alone at the ranch, so they went along on the village route, starting with the city of Leon Brindis. Francisco was immediately interested in helping and evangelizing, and the others soon found a niche to help. Invitations soon came for 1, 3 and 5 day classes, and having the young people along, attracted others to join.
Ena was diabetic and had one foot amputated about a year ago after an infection from stepping on a nail. She did not let this hamper her activities and continued in Bible Classes.
She was a true hostess and opened her home and her heart to others. Her smile was genuine and contagious, as was her love for Jesus.
From Prayer Letter dated April 2007. ...an item of praise! Francisco and Ena, even with health problems taught Madero VBS with Tony and Gerson. They got along very well and are planning to teach this summer. And with all the requests we need them!!
It is wonderful meeting
new friends who turn
out to be family. The
kindred spirit shared
in Jesus is unique, global
and eternal!
Por lo tanto, cuando
tenemos oportunidad,
déjenos hacer bueno
a toda la gente, sobre
todo a aquellos quien
pertenezca a la familia
de creyentes.
Ephesions 6:10
Chemula is an autonomous township of 50K inhabitants of indigenous Mayan tribes curanderos (medicine man) diagnosed medical and psychological conditions. He prescribed remedies such as candle lighting and live sacrifice. Chemula families kneel on the floor of the church with melted wax, drink ceremonial cups of posh, a sugar cane liquor with coca Cola. They chant prayers in tzotzil an archaic dialect. Being autonomous the Mexican police or military are not allowed in the city as they have their own police force. Photography is prohibited and violators can be thrown out of town.
Another family is waving the limp body of a chicken over three children sitting in a close circle. Waving of the white feathered chicken was repeated again and again often hitting the faces of the children even knocking them over. Three women at the back of the church could be heard chanting repeatedly in a monotone seem to express hopelessness of the heart. The obscurity and bloom on the faces of the people was so heavy that I physically felt sadness at their utter darkness.
No pews...the flor is covered in pine needles and soda bottles. Families come to see healing and pardon for their sins. In one small family the father is praying and lighting several small rows of candles. He waves a bottle of water over the candles. He hands it to his son pours the water over a baby two months old. The grandmother takes the families live chicken to the altar. There she prays to the saint Juan Bautista for permission to make her sacrifice in exchange for pardon.
From the door of an orphanage to the house of the King,
No longer an outcast, a new song I sing;
From rags unto riches, from the weak to the strong,
I'm not worthy to be here, but PRAISE GOD! I belong!
Chorus
I'm so glad I'm a part of the Family of God,
I've been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His Blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod,
For I'm part of the family,
The Family of God
When we arrived at the facility for Yarelli's wedding at 12:45, no one was there yet. We walked back to wait in the car. When I unlocked and opened the door, the horn started honking! We decided to drive around, made a quick stop at the convenience store for water, and again, when I unlocked the door, the horn honked. I jumped in, stuck the keys in the ignition, and it stopped. We returned and asked when the wedding would start. A lady smiled, "when the Bride arrives!" Around 2PM, the Bride arrived. During the ceremony, smaller children played in the flower petals and around the room, larger ones were texting. Around 4 Mateo fell asleep. I really wanted to stay a couple more hours just to hear the Mariachi Band. We left quietly. Fortunately, we'd parked down the street, cause when I unlocked the door, the horn honked. Back at the center, I explained the horn-honking thing to Carlos and Adrian. Humm. . . it's never happened before, you must have done something. Yes! I opened the door! They looked under the hood, moved some things, discussed the problem explaining the horn was the anti-theft system. Finally, a solution!! "When you unlock and open the door, jump in really fast, and put the key in the ignition!"
Sunday we went to a church in Rosindo Salizar, where a couple of years ago, one hundred people were relocated to higher ground so the dam could be opened. This created a postcard lake setting.
Wonderful people! We said our good byes, I opened the door and the horn honked, so I jumped in quickly and put the key in the ignition. It stopped Honking! This is competition now. I have it down to three honks! My help comes from the Lord who made the heavens and earth............
A traditional Mexican wedding is often celebrated by a parade through the streets, led by the Bride and Groom, the immediate family, then the Mariachi Band and extended family and friends. Often the friends carry a dresser where people may contribute to the future of the bride and groom.
Yarelli participated in Casa Shekinah Bible Classes last season.
